Tips for staying alert & safe

There is no “one size fits all” appearance when it comes to knowing who the next threat or shooter will be. There is not a specific location, day, or time that they will strike. When it comes to realtor safety, healthcare safety, personal, or employee safety, we can make a conscious effort to notice the behaviors of others as we move about our day. We can be aware of our surroundings and mentally plan and prepare. Unfortunately, bad things happen to good people and no place is off limits anymore.

P3 Training Group is focused on providing training to help you plan and prepare. We are in the process of applying for certification for Healthcare Safety CE Training credits, Realtor Safety CE Training credits, and we provide a variety of learning options ranging from self-paced eLearning, in-person scenario-based training and even customized training.

When you are going through your day, take a moment to put your phone away and pay attention to your surroundings. If things look out of place, just take a second look – are people running and shouting? Is someone dressed oddly for the current location or weather? Is a colleague or friend acting differently or out of sorts? Take a moment and pay attention, maybe they are just having an off day but maybe it is something more.

Watch for visual indicators of trouble brewing such as someone continuously adjusting their clothing or waistband area, large bags that can hold weapons or someone wearing tactical gear/clothing in an environment where it doesn’t make sense.

Know where you are and know your alternate exits. If you observe an indicator of a possible threat, immediately find your closest exit. Don’t wait for the incident to kick off. Run away, get far, call 911. Let professionals respond and assess.
